Amanda Rico is the owner of Harmony Yoga Haliburton. She is an E-RYT550 with the Canadian Yoga Alliance, a Yoga Medicine® Teacher, and a Kettlebell and Steel Mace Coach. She is passionate about biomechanics and body movement, anatomy, and the science of yoga, meditation, and breathing practices. Her clear and direct teaching style combines an understanding of alignment and anatomy to create an atmosphere where challenging movement, awareness, and breath merge to create a balance between effort and ease, offering a practice that is approachable, sustainable, and therapeutic. Amanda is passionate about integrating more strength and stability into the yoga practice, including loaded asana with the Steel Mace and Kettlebells. She specializes in functional movement systems, High Intensity Interval Training, and Flow State Training. She offers one-on-one coaching including strength training, yoga, and mindset practices. She practices and teaches from Ayurvedic principles, keeping in tune with the rhythm of the seasons to offer balance to the mind, body, and spirit.
Talya (aka Natalie) has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 25 years working with individuals who have sustained concussions, orthopaedic injuries and PTSD, supporting their recovery journey. Talya is trained in providing goal oriented, functional skills development, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, breathwork and yoga. She has recently completed a second level yoga teacher training in Nepal with a focus on Hatha and meditation. Tayla is happiest when in nature, often striking a pose or breathing deeply by a lake, on a mountain, or in the forest. She is passionate about sharing the amazing benefits of yoga with others. Believing that energy is shared, Tayla feels that yoga positively influences all aspects of life, regardless of experience, skill, or strength level. She has relocated to Haliburton part time and is building her wellness practise while living the best life in this incredible place!
