In June 2000, I graduated from Ashmead College of Massage now Everest College. I practiced for a short time in Homer, Alaska. My experience as a massage therapist ignited a curiosity about forms of energy work and other modalities of alternative healing. Although my career path changed course, my utilization of alternative healthcare and the slow incorporation of ancient healing practices into my life continued. I graduated from nursing school in 2009 and professionally accelerated as a Registered Nurse, but continued to feel like there was a key piece of myself missing. In 2010, I began a journey of healing and self-discovery which led me on a path to incorporating yoga and meditation in my daily life. The sense of inner strength and stillness within helped to calm the turbulence that was being unpacked emotionally and physically from past experiences. The yoga asanas or postures helped to not only transform my physical body, but also the practice of mindfulness through meditation and other techniques, fused together a platform for me to find a way to break free from patterns of behaviors and past pain that held me back from being in my true nature. In 2015, I took a class by a well-respected healing practitioner in Portland, Oregon on the healing technique of Reiki energy healing. I used Reiki as a tool for my own personal path to healing, while integrating Kundalini Yoga as well into my daily practice. I continued to study and take more classes from various wonderful teachers, adding layers to my spiritual practice. My connection to Mother Earth and the healing properties of her elements led me to find solace and healing deeper within, while developing a passion to help others connect to their own true essence through energy work and yoga. In June 2022, I completed RYS 200 Yoga Alliance Teacher Training and began to dedicate more time to provide yoga training and practice energy work with others. I’ve been teaching yoga at Beaverton Crunch fitness as well.
