Owner and professional/experienced pet groomer at Dodge City Grooming Salon. With a whole lifetime in the animal industry, she's been a certified/insured groomer since 2015. With her extensive animal background, she also works at a veterinary hospital part-time to maintain her education on the medical aspect and proper care for your pet's every need. Leanne specializes in elderly animals and special needs fur babies too. She's comfortable grooming cats, dogs, birds and even small animals. She loves her profession and continues extra education whenever it's offered. Leanne also loves being involved within the community and enjoys giving back. This salon she’s created isn’t just a business or a job, it’s her passion, and it shows! She’s excited to continue to grow her business and hand-picked staff.

Cara is a certified, insured canine/feline groomer, who has had a lifelong love for dogs and has been working in the industry for over 17 years! We consider Cara being our most experienced groomer and it shows. She lives with her partner and 2 children (Sterling & Sunny) in the heart of Cumberland. She also has her K9 companions, Rocket dog (lab x heeler) and the newest addition Rizzo (border collie x lab/heeler). Cara also has 3 cats with her partner including one called (Piggie Smalls). Cara brings extensive knowledge in grooming and behaviour of all canine breeds. She’s trained in proper breed clips and takes a tremendous amount of pride in her work and the animals she works with. She’s also had many years of experience in show grooming and growing out breed clips. She specializes in hand stripping all breeds of terriers and has many years of experience in feline grooming. If you're looking for a breed clip, hand strip or specialized scissor work, this girl has you covered. Her calm, warm personality will have your pooch sold after your first appointment here at Dodge City Grooming Salon. At this time Cara is only working part time so her availability is limited.

Update March 2025: Sarah has unfortunately relocated to Saskatchewan at this time. We hope she returns in the future to grow old with all of us and her 4 legged clients. Leanne, Cara, Kitana (in training) and Sarah G. (in training) will be taking over her existing clientele. Depending on your pet's requirements and haircut it will depend on the groomer's comfort and skills. We take explicit grooming notes during each appointment to keep consistency in our work and comfort to your pet. Sarah will be deeply missed in our salon but we feel our dream team will continue her amazing work to her clients and their pets. We look forward in seeing you all again.

UPDATE DEC 2022: Cyan will be joining us once a month for a “Feature Groomer” Saturday. If you would like to know which Saturday Cyan will be grooming out of DCG, please contact our receptionist to book an appointment. Her appointments do fill up quickly so book ahead! Sept 2022: Cyan has relocated to Victoria to be closer to her partner. We are extremely sad to see her re-locate however are so proud of the professional animal groomer she's become. We all still remain close and cannot wait for her return in the next few years to Dodge City Grooming. If Victoria is closer to you and Cyan was your pup's groomer. Please feel free to call or text our salon number to get the name and number to Cyan's new employment she's working out of. We will be keeping all of Cyan's past clientele. Sarah G. has relocated back to the island with her cowboy husband and beautiful little daughter. We are pleased to welcome Sarah G. to our dream team here at DCG. She's currently enrolled in JKL grooming certification where in a short time will be fully certified. Sarah sought out grooming when she was living in Alberta. She managed to get herself some hands on skills to bathing, blow drying and prep work. Since then she's been Leanne's bather/blow drier for many months and is now developing her hands on skills in the salon. This young lady understands herding breeds and their very strong, smart minds. We would like to say this is her specialty as she owns 3 beautiful, working border collies. Sarah is a strong, compassionate, hardworking cowgirl and it shows in her work and her ability to kindly read dogs and their needs. We are excited to see her work and clientele grow in the short upcoming months. Sarah G. will be looking after our current clientele and the odd new clientele. Welcome to the team Sarah! We are so excited to have you.

Kitana has been with DCG since Oct 2024, originally hired as Leanne’s bather but quickly showed interest in taking on the groomer career. She’s been enrolled in JKL grooming for her theory part of the career and is being trained under all of us/primarily Leanne for the hands-on portion. She’s learning incredibly quickly, and her creative eye and attention to detail shows already in her work. Kitana was born and raised in Whistler BC where she and her mom relocated to the island in 2024 (when Whistler ran out of room) In her spare time she loves to explore the island, with no cell reception hiking locations with her boyfriend, Finn and dog Diggity (a reserve mutt that seems to be a border collie x bully breed x) She’s excited to build her clientele here at DCG as she continues to learn the ropes that dog grooming has to offer. She’s currently accepting bath and drys, bath and tidy type dog breeds but soon will be accepting full grooms. Her calm nature, her willingness to take the extra time with dogs who truly need it and the fact that she’s one of the best bathers we’ve ever hired… proves your dog will always be in good hands with Kitana.
