Aylin Gomez

Aylin Gomez grew up in the small town of Anderson, SC. She is a native of Mexico City, Mexico, and is a DACA recipient. She is a recent graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelors in Political Science and is passionate about advocating for immigrant rights in South Carolina. Danny Flores
Danny Flores

Danny Flores is a local artist and community organizer. He was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico and has lived in Columbia, SC for 18 years. As a DACA recipient and son of two immigrant parents, he generally focuses his art and community work on Latinx and immigrant issues. Danny Flores es un artista local y organizador comunitario. Nació en Tamaulipas, México y ha vivido en Columbia, SC durante 18 años. Jackie Mayorga

Jackie Mayorga was born in Hidalgo Mexico and was raised in Columbia, SC. She’s a Columbia College Alumni and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in Latinx Communities at Boston College. Jackie is a DACA recipient and is passionate about working alongside immigrant communities to create social change. Jackie Mayorga nació en Hidalgo, Mexico y creció en Columbia, Carolina del Sur. Ana Garcia was born in Columbia, SC to parents from Jalisco, Mexico. She has a bachelors degree in Public Health from Agnes Scott College, a women's college in Decatur, GA. She has bachelors degrees in Political Science and Geography from the University of South Carolina, and will be starting law school in 2021. My name is Brenda Flores. I have lived in Anderson, South Carolina for 14 years and I’m a DACA recipient. I’m currently a bank teller but I aspire to continue my education while I work to organize and support our community through DACA United SC. Mi nombre es Brenda Flores. Jonatan Guerrero
Jonatan Guerrero

A graduate of the Art Institute of Charleston and a proud DACA recipient, Jonatan began his career even before moving to Charleston in 2014. Growing up in the small town of Waynesboro Georgia, Jonatan's biggest influence was music and theatre, which lead him to be featured in Teen Vogue Magazine and the Georgia Literacy Association. He currently sits on The City of Charleston's Latinx Advisory Council. His passion for helping youth extends into the classroom where he teaches with YoArt Inc. as an adjunct teacher. Lendale Vazquez was born in Huatusco, Veracruz and was raised in Gilbert, South Carolina. She has lived in SC for 20 years and is a DACA recipient. She aspires to become a nurse and is currently working to organize her community through DACA United SC. Lendale Vazquez nació en Huatusco, Veracruz y se crió en Gilbert, Carolina del Sur. Louise Pocock
Louise Pocock

Louise Pocock is the Immigration Policy Attorney with SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center. Louise speaks Spanish and prior to working on immigration policy issues with SC Appleseed, she represented immigrant clients in public benefits cases and worked with state agencies and community organizations to improve access to public benefit programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and WIC for immigrant families. Originally from New Mexico, and the daughter of immigrant parents, Louise is grateful to be working with SC's immigrant community to make our state a place where immigrants can thrive.
