Kenya started her hair journey at the tender age of 12. She experimented with her mother's leftover box hair color and started cutting her own hair. By the 9th grade, Kenya worked afterschool at her cousin's hair salon, called Black Hair Atlanta. She answered the phone, scheduled appointments, swept up hair, ran errands, shampooed and styled hair. By Spring of 1996, Kenya became a licensed Master Cosmetologist. She graduated from Leon's Beauty School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Two years later, she opened Tripp's Contemporary Design. In 2001, Kenya closed her salon down and moved back to Georgia. She was searching for a new career path, away from the hair industry. Kenya graduated from Sanford Brown College's Medical Assistant program in 2003. This lead her right back into the hair field. She began working as a Surgical Hair Tech for MHR. The Hair Replacement field has allowed Kenya to travel all over the United States. She has worked with multiple private doctors, clinics, as well as large corporations. In 2009, when the market crashed, Kenya was no longer needed as an Independent Surgical Hair Tech. She went back to her first love and opened Joyce Fletcher's Hair Salon LLC. Kenya is currently a licensed Master Cosmetologist for the state of North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina.
