She has implemented programs to assist individuals experiencing economic hardship, economic abuse, and homelessness.

Tammy has been providing financial counseling for over 8 years. She has completed over 1,000 counseling sessions. Tammy has helped hundreds of clients increase savings, reduce debt, establish or increase credit score, and open safe and affordable bank accounts. Tammy provides free one-on-one financial counseling sessions on-site at Reo School 1221 Reo Rd. as well as virtual sessions on Microsoft Teams.

Welcome to VITA Income Tax Preparation! Thank you for choosing VITA for your tax preparation needs! Our volunteer tax preparers are ready to assist you with your federal and state income tax returns. To make things even more convenient, our services are provided in a mobile unit—a bus that brings tax preparation to you! Follow the steps below to schedule your appointment. You are signing up for a mobile VITA unit appointment at the former REO School, at 1221 Reo Rd in Lansing. This is also the location of the Financial Empowerment Center. Appointments are available at REO every other Wednesday from 10am - 4pm, between February 5 and April 2. If your household income is under $67,000, you will most likely qualify (see vitataxprep.org for more information on that). Maximize your Earned Income Tax Credit, Home Heating Credit, and the Homestead Property Tax Credit. Please bring the following documents to your appointment: Photo ID (e.g., driver's license, state ID) Social Security cards for you, your spouse, and dependents Income statements (e.g., W-2, 1099 forms) Previous year's tax return Any relevant tax documents (e.g., mortgage interest, student loan interest, medical expenses)
