I got into yoga the same way a lot of us did, from home workout videos. For me it was good ol' Tony Horton and the P90-X program. When I could get to the end of all the workouts except the yoga video, I realized that yoga could be an insane workout as well as increasing flexibility in a much more enjoyable way than just stretching. Though I came to the mat for the physical benefits, I deepened my practice because of the poise and calm I received as a result of the mental exercise involved. I am a 200 HR RYT trained yoga instructor and recipient of the David Oliver Memorial Teacher Training Scholarship. I've been a teaching yoga in Lincoln for almost 5 years and I try to take the gratefulness of the opportunities I've had to each one of my classes so I can pass on the gifts of physical and mental fortitude that a yoga practice provides.
