Zarhcos is a Pilates Studio founded by Jose A. Ruiz Carreton, a Second Generation Pilates Instructor, in 2018. Zarhcos opened in 2004 their's first Pilates Studio in New York. ​ In 2002, Jose becomes an independent student of Romana Kryzanowska, a protege of Joseph H. Pilates, at his Studio in Manhattan. In the same year, Romana began her prestigious Pilates Certification Program at Drago's Gym, where Jose eventually received his certification and began teaching alongside her teacher, Edwina Fontaine, Jerome Weinberg, Sari Mejia (Romana K. daughter), and Cynthia Shipley for more than 6 years.  In 2013, Jose worked with Bob Liekens and collaborated on the epilogue of the book "Voices of Classical Pilates" by Peter Fiasca.   ​ *Second Generation teachers are Pilates teachers certified by Elder Romana Kryzaonowaska.

My inspiration in Pilates is having autonomy over one’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. As an instructor, I utilize my role as a guide for you to reconnect with your body by helping you learn its neuromuscular dialect. We are born with all the body we need, and when we activate its deepest core, we can optimize the capacity in which we live in that body. I specialize in helping you improve your mobility, flexibility, stability and competence in movement. No matter where you’re starting from, my individualized approach ensures progression that you can apply outside of your session, and keeps you curious about what you’ll achieve in your next one.
